INDIANAPOLIS – As the City of Indianapolis continues its commitment to reducing crime, it will award $500,000 to help small businesses equip small businesses with b-link cameras.
The b-link program allows personal and business security cameras to join a live streaming video access network for use by the IMPD when a crime or incident occurs nearby.
Currently, 33 companies have registered more than 120 cameras. The program launched in 2019.
Small businesses can now apply for a one-time grant of up to $2,500 to install and manage business cameras
Businesses can also connect security cameras already in use, or apply to offset camera installation costs through the b-link Pro program
“Through the b-link program, IMPD has successfully identified vehicles and arrested suspects. The program allows our community to work directly with IMPD by providing critical video and evidence to help our detectives solve crimes and ensure justice for victims,” said IMPD Vice President of Investigations. Director Kendale Adams said.
